WT Disney otherwise known as Idlewild

We found a really fun amusement park, just an hour and half from the house. The crowd it gathered was very diverse, but I think we were exposed to the much referenced hillbilly folk. I felt a little judgemental, but I don't think I've ever seen so many people in one place in bad need of dental hygiene. However, it was really fun and perfect for the little ones. There was also a fun water park included in the price of admission and Caleb and Daddy had fun going down the tube ride together.

All the rides are little kid friendly and Caleb broke out of his cautious self and road a big roller coaster, log ride and a number of rides that whip around and around.
There was even a number of toddler friendly rides that Sissy loved.
Caleb kindly escorted his sweet sister all around the park.

It was very fun, but extremely hot and I don't think I have felt this exhausted in a very long time. We took a walk down memory line through Storybook Forest. All the pictures are of Sissy, because Caleb was so naughty he got grounded to the stroller for the first 2 hours of day two at the Park.
Sissy keeping him company
I don't remember this nursery rhyme, but I thought this big chair was a great picture opp.
This "Chu Chu" represented my favorite childhood story,
The Little Engine That Could
The famous Sword and the Stone
I guess Sister was not The Chosen One.
We took a little break on our tour, so Makaylee could fill her shoes with rocks and dirt.
Caleb's punishment may seem harsh, but the original consequence was grounding the whole day. It was too heart breaking to watch him miss out on the whole day, so we gave him many chances to earn back the privilege of the park. I think I was as happy as him with his success.

Musical Beds

We have a new tread around here lately of starting in one bed at the beginning of the night and ending up in another at the end. We have four beds in the house and each night we give the kiddos their pick of Brother's, Sister's or Grandma's bed. Most recently Makaylee is choosing Caleb's bed, which she refers to as Sissy's bed. No she is not meaning herself, but endearingly refers to her big brother as Sissy.

Previously, Cory and I have always been strict about not letting our little ones sleep with us. However, I guess now that they are traveling to us in wee hours of the morning we have grown soft. There is also the occasional bad dream that wakes one of them up and they just need mommy or daddy for comfort. I know it goes against all the Baby Wise rules, but we had great sleepers as babies and now that we have a preschooler that needs to potty on occasion during the night in an effort to not wet the bad, and a toddler who is a complete cuddle bug we feel like this is a healthy stage for our family.

We always start the night sans kids, so Cory and I can have alone time, but having those sweet little ones surprise us with a cuddle in the middle of the night is a treasure I don't want to miss. It is also the times I most often hear Caleb's tender side. There is nothing as wonderful as an unsolicited "mommy I love you," the words, "you are the best mommy" or the newest addition to his affirming words, "mom you are my treasure."

Crafting with Daddy

Daddy is working hard on being more creative and what better way to stretch himself than a fun little craft with Caleb.

Winnie

My kiddos would be ecstatic if this sweet girl was a new addition to our home, but no such luck. Daddy is still a dog hater. Well maybe not a hater, but has no desire to add man's best friend to this family.
We found Winnie mindlessly walking down the busiest street in town resembling a panhandler as she strolled from car to car. Thankfully she stopped at our car, I opened my door and she jumped in. Her owner had her well marked with a number, so we gave them a call. We got no response, so Winnie headed home with us. The kids were thrilled. They are both huge animal fans and especially love dogs.

Winnie is a young dog with lots of energy and very sweet. She seemed a little nervous, but still waged her tell and toured the house. It was nap time, so playtime with our new friend ended quickly. The owner called while the kids were asleep to come pick her up, but not before she and I enjoyed a bowl of blueberries. Winnie was a huge fan of this antioxidant.

Fun Father's Day

We had a really fun Father's day. It was especially nice because we have been consumed with our yard for the last several weekends, so having family time was much needed. It started out with making Daddy breakfast. A rare event in this household.

Then we went to the pool. It has been interesting watching the kids go from clinging with the death grip the first couple visits to the pool to becoming two little fish.
Caleb has mastered the cannonball

After, the super fun time at the pool we headed home for nap time for some reenergizing.

When they woke up we made Daddy his favorite
sugar cookies.

The shape of stars to remind him he is our star.
Then we delivered the cookies to him outside since
he was back at work on the yard.

After the cookies and dad's presents,

we decided to go visit the neighbors and spent the rest of the evening hanging out and and having a great time with them.
